Charles Leclerc Disappointed After Failing to Secure Pole at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix
In a thrilling qualifying session at the historic Monaco Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc narrowly missed out on pole position. The Monegasque driver put in an impressive lap during the second run of Q3, but Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri managed to snatch the top spot on their final runs.
Leclerc’s Provisional Pole Snatched Away at the Last Moment
Despite a strong performance, Leclerc was left frustrated as he couldn’t hold onto pole position. He felt that there wasn’t much more he could have done to beat Norris, but traffic in sector two during his first lap cost him valuable time and confidence.
Leclerc admitted that Ferrari had finally shown competitive form at the Monaco Grand Prix, and a pole position would have given him an excellent chance to win a race this season. However, he acknowledged that hasn’t been able to fight for wins elsewhere on the Formula 1 calendar.
When asked about his historical strength around city tracks like Monaco, Leclerc said he enjoys pushing himself to the limit during qualifying and taking maximum risks. He was proud of the result they achieved this weekend, despite expectations being low due to the car’s performance elsewhere.
