The 2025 Formula 1 season is off to a thrilling start with the Australian Grand Prix this weekend! Six rookie drivers are gearing up for their debut, but they’ve got their work cut out for them with high humidity and expected rainfall on tap.

Schedule

The start time of the Australian Grand Prix has been moved to 3 pm, which has left European fans a bit miffed. To make matters more complicated, it’s expected to go dark towards the end of the race due to the changing time. Any delays could make things even trickier!

Weather Forecast

Here’s a breakdown of the weather for each day:

Friday, 14 March

The first two practice sessions will take place on Friday. FP1 starts at 12:30 local time and should see the morning clouds dispersing to bring in the afternoon sun. Temperatures are expected to reach 28°C with only a 7% chance of rain and SSW winds at 5-10 mph. The high humidity could pose a threat, though!

Saturday, 15 March

Temperatures on Saturday will rise to a high of 37 degrees, but the humidity drops to between 37% and 43%. Winds are expected to change to NNW at 10-15 mph, and the day should be fairly cloudy. The predicted rainfall increases from a 3% chance during the day to 21% during the evening, which could pose a threat towards the end of Qualifying.

Sunday, 16 March

Race day is where it gets interesting! After minimal rain is predicted on Friday and Saturday, the chance of rainfall increases to 80% during the Grand Prix. The humidity is expected to be between 63-72%, with 10-20 mph westerly winds and a high of 25 degrees. Sunset is expected at roughly 19:30, so daylight could become an issue should there be any delays.
