Adrian Newey Joins Aston Martin for 2025 F1 Season

Renowned car designer, Adrian Newey, has officially joined the ranks of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, starting from March 1st. Known as one of the greatest automobile designers in Formula 1 history, Newey comes to Silverstone after a long and successful career at Red Bull Racing. His focus will primarily be on navigating the 2026 regulation changes.

A Fresh Perspective for the Next Era of F1

With substantial investment from Lawrence Stroll, including a new wind tunnel and other state-of-the-art facilities, Newey’s arrival signals high expectations for the next era of Formula 1 racing.

CEO and Team Principal Andy Cowell expressed his excitement about Newey’s arrival, stating, “He walked into his office at the AMR Technology Campus, put his briefcase down, and was in a concept meeting almost straight away, discussing an area of the car.” Cowell continued, “He’s embedded himself immediately. He’s met all our exec team and quickly immersed himself with our engineers, attentively listening to what people are saying about the work they’ve done.”

Newey, who is not one for grand ceremonies, has rolled up his sleeves and jumped right into the job. He’s asking questions, offering opinions, and bringing a fresh perspective to the team. Cowell concluded, “We’re delighted to have him.”

Stroll further emphasized Newey’s competitive spirit, saying, “When he saw what we have built at Silverstone – our incredible AMR Technology Campus, the talented group of people we have assembled and the latest wind tunnel in the sport – he quickly understood what we are trying to achieve. We mean business – and so does he.”

Stroll concluded by expressing his belief that Newey shares the team’s hunger and ambition, stating, “Adrian shares our hunger and ambition, he believes in this project, and he will help us write the next chapter in Aston Martin Aramco’s Formula One story.”
