Pierre Gasly Looks Forward to the Australian Grand Prix with Renewed Confidence
After a challenging couple of seasons where Alpine finished 6th in the constructors’ standings in both 2024 and 2023, Pierre Gasly is feeling optimistic about the team’s current state. This positive outlook stems from a series of changes at the Enstone squad, one of which includes the addition of advisor Flavio Briatore, who aims to propel back into championship contention following an impressive end to the 2024 season.
A Promising Start to the New Season
In an interview with Motorsport.com, Gasly expressed his enthusiasm going into the Australian Grand Prix. “I must say I’m feeling good because over the past two years, winter testing has presented numerous challenges for us as a team. However, this year in Bahrain, it felt like we started off in a much better place.”
Although he hasn’t delved too deeply into the data, Gasly is confident that the season will be closely fought, particularly among the top four teams. “I believe it’s going to be quite tight, so the question is how much the gap between the two groups has reduced, which I hope will mean we can challenge more often.”
Preparing for the Australian Grand Prix
The test went well, and Gasly is eagerly anticipating the Australian Grand Prix. “The test went well, and I must say I’m very excited to get started in Australia. I had a great winter physically and mentally.”
New members have joined the team, and the existing ones are fostering a positive dynamic and momentum from the end of last year. This sense of unity makes it feel like all the pieces are falling into place.
Achievements and Confidence for the Future
The team achieved a double podium during a wet Sao Paulo Grand Prix last year, propelling them to 6th on the constructors’ standings. This success has boosted their confidence as they enter the 2025 season with renewed spirit and rookie Jack Doohan.
Photos from the Australian GP – Thursday will capture the team’s enthusiasm as they prepare for the race this weekend.
