Red Bull’s Max Verstappen Takes Pole Position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

In a thrilling turn of events, Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen snatched the coveted pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. After a challenging week following a disappointing performance in Bahrain, Verstappen silenced his critics with an outstanding lap time of 1m27.294s.

Lando Norris Crashes Out in Qualifying, Starting 10th on Sunday

The championship leader, Lando Norris, had high hopes for the race but unfortunately crashed out during qualifying, labeling himself a “fucking idiot” over team radio. This unfortunate incident will see him start 10th on the grid on Sunday.

Verstappen’s pole position marks his 42nd career pole position, narrowly beating Oscar Piastri’s McLaren by 0.010s. George Russell will start third for Mercedes, with Charles Leclerc alongside him in the lead Ferrari. Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Carlos Sainz share row three, with Sainz delivering his best qualifying performance of the season for Williams.

Lewis Hamilton struggled for pace during practice but managed to secure seventh place on the grid. Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly also got ahead of Norris after his crash. The title hopeful will start 10th, a significant drop from his sixth-place starting position in Bahrain last weekend.

Alex Albon looked strong throughout practice but narrowly missed out on the top 10 shoot-out and will start 11th. Fernando Alonso is 13th, with Isack Hadjar and Oliver Bearman also making it into Q2 before being eliminated. Gasly survived a close call when he pulled out of his garage with a tyre blanket still attached to the right front, but ultimately managed to progress from Q1.

Sauber struggled in qualifying, with Nico Hulkenberg down in 18th and Gabriel Bortoleto last after spinning on his final attempt. The second Haas of Esteban Ocon splits the pair. Jack Doohan did not manage to escape the drop zone and will start 17th, behind Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin.
