Expert Insights on Red Bull’s Pre-Season Testing and Upcoming Season

Former Formula 1 driver and Sky Sports presenter, Martin Brundle, has shared his thoughts on Red Bull’s performance during pre-season testing and how it might impact the season-opener in Australia next week.

Red Bull’s Pre-Season Testing Performance

The pre-season testing was held in Bahrain from 26th to 28th February, and although it is challenging to evaluate the full potential of the teams, Brundle noticed that four-time F1 Champion Max Verstappen seemed displeased with the RB21. He was seen shaking his head and losing control of the car due to frustration.

Despite these issues, Brundle still considers Verstappen as the favourite for the season opener. He believes that Red Bull will have addressed the problems before arriving in Australia. He further added that Verstappen’s exceptional skills and championship-winning experience make him a strong contender.

Verstappen’s Doubts About Melbourne Performance

Despite receiving Brundle’s backing, Verstappen himself has expressed doubts about Red Bull’s chances of winning in Melbourne. He also highlighted the team’s ongoing issues with kerbs and bumps during the Bahrain test.

The 2025 season will kick off with a double-header. The Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for 14th-16th March, followed by the China Grand Prix on 21st-23rd March.
