Lewis Hamilton’s TikTok Debut: A Modern-Day Homage to a Classic Film

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, recently made a splash online with his debut video on TikTok. The video, a modern-day homage to the classic film, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, featured Hamilton recreating iconic scenes from the movie, all while seated behind the wheel of his dream car – the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder.

Behind the Scenes of a Substantial Production

The production of this video was no small feat, requiring a full day on set and the collaboration of Hamilton’s production company, Dawn Apollo Films. The driver was filmed in front of green and LCD screens, reminiscent of the filming techniques used in the popular series, The Mandalorian.

Alongside actor Edward Norton, who has starred in films such as Fight Club and The Incredible Hulk, Hamilton shared the screen for this unique project. Speaking about his dream car, Hamilton expressed his excitement about potentially cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway with his pet bulldog, Roscoe, by his side.

A Challenging Start to the 2025 Season

Despite the success of his TikTok debut, Hamilton faced a difficult opening race of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Australian Grand Prix saw him finish in P10, two places behind his team-mate Charles Leclerc. Joining forces with team chief Fred Vasseur, Hamilton is hopeful for a more successful season ahead, aiming to challenge the grid for wins this year.

Hamilton’s enthusiasm and energy from his TikTok project are exactly what he plans to bring to the track this season. “Still buzzing about how it all came together,” Hamilton shared on social media. “From coming up with the idea to do this, spending a full day on set, and sending this out into the world. Hope you enjoyed, and hope it inspires you to put time and energy into what brings you joy.”

Struggles with Ride Height in China

Ferrari is reportedly struggling with the ride height of their SF-25 car, a problem that surfaced during qualifying last weekend. In an effort to increase the gap between the car and the tarmac due to unforeseen circumstances, the car lost aerodynamic load. The team will be hoping to rebalance the car in China, aiming for a better race this weekend.
