Lewis Hamilton’s Foray into Film Production
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, might be swapping the race track for the red carpet in his next career chapter. The F1 driver has delved into film production and expressed his apprehension about the rest of the grid’s reaction to his upcoming movie.
A Hollywood Movie with an F1 Twist
Hamilton, who served as a producer for the upcoming F1 movie, confessed that he was “nervous” about the film’s reception among his fellow drivers. He shared this during an exclusive screening attended by F1 drivers and team principals. The movie, which Hamilton has seen over 20 times, offers a unique perspective on the making of a film, from the initial treatment to the final script.
To ensure authenticity, Hamilton, as a real F1 driver, played a significant role in the film’s production. However, he was mindful that it was still a Hollywood production, requiring a balance between realism and storytelling.
Collaborating with Industry Giants
To enhance the movie’s appeal, Hamilton enlisted the help of legendary composer Hans Zimmer, whom he is a “big fan” of. He also collaborated with Apple, the film’s producer and distributor, spending time at their headquarters. Hamilton praised Apple for being an exceptional partner during the production process.
The Future of Dawn Apollo Films
With his first movie under his belt, Hamilton is already working on new ideas for Dawn Apollo Films, his production company. He shared that the film’s opening credits hint at his involvement and left him in awe. “We couldn’t go any higher for my first movie,” he said.
Hamilton revealed plans to produce more movies in the coming years, including two animated features and one currently in script development. He is also considering documentaries and potential TV series. However, his primary focus remains on making movies, which he admits is his passion.
A Promising Future in Film Production
Photos from the Monaco GP – Thursday provided a glimpse into Hamilton’s promising future in film production. With his unique perspective and passion for storytelling, it seems that the race track may not be the only place where we see Lewis Hamilton shine.
