McLaren star Lando Norris couldn’t hide his excitement after Formula 1 drivers were given a private screening of the upcoming F1 movie, set to premiere at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. With his characteristic humor in full swing, Norris shared his thoughts on the film and his own cameo appearance.
A Star-Studded Production
The movie, titled “APXGP,” boasts an impressive cast led by Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. Filmed within the real world of F1, it features appearances from several drivers who joined in during Grand Prix weekends. The fictional team, APXGP, will be prominently featured in the pits and paddock, with real footage captured during actual F1 race weekends.
In a previous interview on This Morning, Norris hinted at his role in the production. “I think I’m in bits of it – I’m definitely not Hollywood,” he joked. He expressed his excitement about working alongside the crew and being behind the scenes to see the filmmaking process.
A Glimpse Behind the Scenes
Norris shared his genuine reaction to the movie, praising its storyline and inspiration for young people entering the world of motorsport. He admitted that he’s not an actor but was happy to play small roles in the background.
A Global Release
The private screening took place on the Wednesday before the race, with Max Verstappen and Lance Stroll being the only drivers who missed the event. The movie, representing three years of groundbreaking work and an unprecedented level of collaboration with F1, is set to be released globally on 25 June. The United States and Canada will see it two days later.
