Formula 4 British Championship Makes Its Grand Entrance at the British Grand Prix

Get ready for an unprecedented motorsport spectacle! For the first time ever, Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, and Formula 4 will share the same event stage. This groundbreaking moment is made possible by the addition of non-championship British F4 races to the British Grand Prix bill.

British F4 Makes Its Debut on the British GP Undercard

This marks a historic first for the British category, long-cherished as an aspiration by championship promoter Motorsport UK. Two races are scheduled across the 4-6 July fixture, each lasting 25 minutes plus one lap – slightly longer than the series’ usual 20-minute contests.

These non-championship races are open only to teams already registered for British F4 this year, with several outfits boasting extra cars available.

A Milestone Moment for Everyone Involved

This is a real milestone moment for everyone that is involved with the F4 British Championship certified by FIA,” said championship manager Eve Lake-Grange. “To have the opportunity to compete on the support bill of Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix is something we’ve been working towards for a long time, so we are delighted to have been able to now make it happen.

The chance for drivers to see their potential career roadmap ahead, all within the same weekend they’re competing, promises to be both special and inspiring. “We pride ourselves on being the first step on the pathway to Formula 1,” Lake-Grange added.

A Bumper, Ultra-Competitive Grid Awaits

The level of interest for this non-championship event has been overwhelming so far, promising a bumper, ultra-competitive grid. “There is no bigger stage than Formula 1,” Lake-Grange concluded, “and we’re all incredibly excited to put on a show for the hundreds of thousands of fans that will be in attendance at Silverstone in July.

The British GP will be British F4’s second event on the Silverstone GP layout this year, having also been part of the C1 24 Hours fixture around the Northamptonshire track earlier this month.
