Lando Norris Discusses His Future Beyond Formula 1
McLaren driver Lando Norris, currently competing for the 2025 world championship, has shared his plans beyond his Formula 1 career during an appearance on The Pivot podcast.
A Balance Between Personal Achievement and Family Life
When asked when he will know he has “done enough” in the sport, Norris, at 25 years old, expressed his desire for a family and a balanced life beyond racing. He stated, “I also do want a family when I grow up, and I wanna see my kids get into racing or soccer or football or whatever it is.
The racer further discussed the dichotomy between wanting to be remembered in history and focusing on personal achievement. He expressed, “I don’t feel like I’m here because I wanna be remembered by everyone, or I wanna be known as the best in the world. I’m here to just enjoy my life and enjoy it, share it, and then pass it down.
A Different Perspective on Success and Legacy
Norris clarified that he has a different outlook on success compared to some drivers who aim for eternal remembrance. He stated, “I kind of have no interest in that. I wanna enjoy my moment and then share my moments with others and kind of go from there.
Reflecting on the Miami Grand Prix
After finishing the Miami Grand Prix in second place behind his McLaren team-mate, Oscar Piastri, Norris shared his thoughts on the race. He commented, “What can I say? If I don’t go for it, people complain,” about the opening lap clash with Max Verstappen.
Despite finishing second, Norris was pleased with his team’s performance, stating, “The team have done an amazing job so I can’t fault them at all – good pit stops, great pace.” He added, “We were up the road so it was a good feeling. Oscar drove well, Max put up a good fight as always and I paid the price but it’s the way it is.
