Lando Norris Assesses Max Verstappen’s Performance in the Miami Grand Prix

In a thrilling race at the Miami Grand Prix, Lando Norris found himself embroiled in a heated battle with Max Verstappen. The clash on the first lap saw Norris drop to sixth before mounting a comeback to finish second, while Verstappen crossed the line 40 seconds behind the winner, Oscar Piastri.

A Contentious Encounter on the First Lap

The encounter between the two drivers resulted in Norris accusing Verstappen of “ruining his own race” and “not racing very smart.” Despite passing Verstappen later in the race, their battle saw both drivers veer off track, an incident that was not investigated by the stewards.

The skirmish has left Norris trailing Piastri by 16 points in the drivers’ championship, with the Aussie claiming his third consecutive win.

Norris’s Persistent Pursuit of Victory

Despite the setbacks, Norris maintained that he gave his all to catch Piastri. He stated, “I gave it a good shot when I got into second place and there was a long way to go, I think still 25 or 30 laps at that point.” Although he stopped pushing in the last four or five laps, the gap between them narrowed significantly.

Norris expressed his determination, saying, “I only probably stopped pushing really in the last four or five laps but the gap went from like almost 10 to to four or three almost, so I did all I could.” He added, “I tried the whole race until util the very end so I kept belief during the whole race, but Oscar’s driving. He’s quick to catch but it always pretty much going to be impossible, but I gave it a good shot. I almost got there, just not enough laps.”
