Yuki Tsunoda’s Home Grand Prix Experience with Red Bull Racing

In his first home race as a Red Bull Racing driver, Yuki Tsunoda expressed mixed feelings after finishing in 12th place. Despite feeling more confident in the car, he was disappointed not to score points, especially at his home Grand Prix.

Tsunoda’s Performance and Confidence Level

Speaking to the media post-race, Tsunoda shared his thoughts on his performance: “I’m happy with my race performance, but obviously, I’m disappointed with the results.” He continued, “At least I wanted to finish in a point, so it’s mixed feelings.

The 24-year-old driver explained that he had gained valuable experience during the race. “The 53, 54 laps I got in this race were the most laps I had in this car,” he said. “Every lap I was learning, and finally, I got decent laps in the car. I definitely feel more confident in the car.

Tsunoda acknowledged that there’s still room for improvement. “I just have to build the pace,” he added. “It’s fortunate that there’s Max [Verstappen] that I can learn from. So I just keep doing what I’m doing. I’m excited for Bahrain actually.

Red Bull Podium Finishers and Tsunoda’s Future Races

In contrast, Red Bull teammate Verstappen secured the victory in Suzuka, with McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finishing second and third, respectively.

After being promoted into the team after just two races of the 2025 season, replacing rookie Liam Lawson who moved to Racing Bulls, Tsunoda now looks ahead to the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix taking place over the next couple of weeks with the hopes of making progress with the RB21.
